Reflections

I've had a lot on my mind lately. On Wednesday night, after bible study, i was having a chat with my good friend, George, in the middle of our conversation, he made a remark, which goes like this, "I do not know what tomorrow holds, but i do know the one who holds tomorrow." It was just a casual remark, but i held on to it. Infact, it's been coming back to me whenever my thots start to drift. It's so funny how things fall in place.

Sometime last month, during my quiet time, i read Proverbs 30 verses 7-9. Paraphrasing, it just says there are 2 things i ask of you dear Lord and don't refuse me these 2 before i die. The first one is keep falsehood and lies away from me (those white lies, stretching the truth, that we're guilty of), let me not be stupendously rich nor be a pauper, but only give me my daily bread (make me comfortable). Because if i'm too rich, i may not have time for you, rather i'll be chasing after my wealth and if i'm too poor, i may steal and that'll bring dishonor to ur name.

That was a light bulb moment for me. I started thinking to myself how true that was. I've a friend that says if he has $ 1 million today, he would fashie God and the things of God. Before the end of that week, during bible study with my girls, the topic was from the same chapter in Proverbs i read earlier in the week. Isn't it awesome just how God works? Some may say it's just coincidental, but i don't think so.

P.S: Things are looking good, oh. Very soon, i'll start blogging on what some may call gross stuff. My friend and I are going to start volunteering at the newly refurbished ER in our local hospital (that hospital is huge, yet they keep on extending it), beginning next week. I'm so excited, but we've to be extra careful, so that we don't contract any nosocomial infections.

I dont believe in coincidences either. Whether good or bad. I believe in signs, wonders/miracles. Cliche? Maybe, but it works for me.

girl...no coincidences...let me confess...i dont really read my bible like i should. i try but i dont. i mean i can read two books in a day but the moment i pick up my bible, it's like...hmmmmmm...

my friend...i asked her how she knows what to read and what not...she said she's guided by the spirit...so i said okay. so early one sunday morning i said i would test it. I read a portion of the bible that i felt i was being "led" by the spirit to read...and what do you know...the sermon by the guest preacher that day came from the same place...i was floored...had to tell everybody...if we pay attention...you really will hear God talking

heard that quote from Star Jones...saying it is easy. But It's hard to let go and Let God do what He does. My prayer is that I may reduce that God may increase...that I may lose me that God may grow...

please be careful with your volunteering

have a blessed week ahead

As per being guided by the spirit whenever u're having ur quiet time, that's another story. Personally, i think u've to be on a high spiritual level, for u to be double sure that it's the spirit talking and not self.
I use "Our Daily Bread" and it has worked for me so far.

Are u tryna say that the quote isn't original? Chei! I've chopped in dis my life o. Me, thinking say na George coin am, not knowing it's been around for a while. It's all good sha

It's an honor for me to have you link my blogspot from your page. =) Anyways...my Bible study group just studied Proverbs 30 and 31 two weeks ago, too. =) It is a powerful few chapters/book. Glad to see you're studying the Word, sister! =) Good luck as you pursue medicine as a career. May God lead you in your every decision.
